What Kind of Skills/Experience Do I Need?
We hire caregivers from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. While we hire health-related, trained professionals like RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists; you do NOT need to be licensed or certified to be a part of our Caregiving Family. We look for individuals that have caregiving experience for loved ones including elder care, child care, infant care, teaching, social work, etc. The most important thing we look for is a caring heart.
What Kind of Orientation/Training Can You Offer Me?
Martha’s Hands conducts an Initial Orientation/Training Session prior to your first shift. During that Orientation, you will be provided basic training on the core care areas that you will experience. With each client assignment, you will receive specific client care orientation/training during your first shift. Martha’s Hands offers on-going training, in-services, along with partnering with various associations that are experts in specific care areas.
How Do You Place Me With A Client?
After the Initial Orientation/Training, you will complete a Skills Match Checklist. You will indicate the skills you have experience/training and feel comfortable performing in the future. Our Staffing Team will verify these Skills with you. Then, the Staffing Team will utilize our computerized care matching system to select clients whose needs match your schedule. They will offer you shifts based on this information. Again, you will be given a client-specific orientation at your first shift so you know exactly how to care for each client.

Our Applicant Office Hours are listed below. Please come prepared for an interview and to complete our online application at one of our kiosks in the office. You will need a valid email address to apply. You also will be asked for both personal and professional references. You will receive email updates and requests for additional information from our office. The whole process will take about 2 weeks, usually depending on how fast your personal and professional references respond to our requests for information.
